Queen of the Mississippi was built in 2012 and marks the first brand new ship designed to sail the Mississippi in almost 15 years. Modeled after traditional paddle-wheeler that sailed the Mississippi River over a hundred years ago, Queen of the Mississippi brings back that old world feel. Modern conveniences will not be forgotten on the replica of old paddle-wheelers, each stateroom comes complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, and DVD player.
Being faster then most other ships on the Mississippi River, Queen of the Mississippi is able to travel to more ports of call in the same amount of itinerary days as a normal vessel. This will be extremely helpful because American Cruise Lines provides some of the most immerse tours at their various ports of call. With ports from New Orleans to St. Louis, all the way up north to St. Paul, Minnesota, there is so much to see on a Queen of the Mississippi voyage.
The cultural immersion does not end once guests re-board after a long day of tours. While guests were enjoying shore excursions and tours of popular historic locations, chefs onboard were spending hours carefully handcrafting local cuisine. With menus that focus on locale cuisine, guests will be able to enjoy the popular nightlife without the hassle of having to leave the ship. |
