There are four yachts in the Ponant fleet. Le Ponant is a luxurious, and efficient three-masted sailing yacht that has 32 staterooms. The fleet's two younger ships, Le Boreal and L'Austral, entered service in 2010 and 2011, respectively. They are state-of-the-art vessels, equipped with 132 staterooms and suites, offering a number of new itineraries. Finally, Le Soleal is the sleek, new sister ship of L'Austral and Le Boreal.

What's New for Ponant?

Ponant has announced that their new ship will be named Le Lyrial and will join their fleet in April of 2015. Le Lyrial will follow the tradition of yacht cruising and French elegance that has made Ponant so famous.

During 2013, Ponant commissioned another new yacht from the Italian Fincantieri shipyard, expected to launch in spring 2015. The new vessel will cruise up and down the shores of Alaska in summer and those of Australia and New Zealand during the winter. The new ship will be a sister ship to Le Boreal, L'Austral, and Le Soleal, and will qualify for the "Cleanship" label and embody the concept of Yacht Cruises as conceived by Ponant.
